CNC Machining at HengDa — What We Actually Do

Ten-plus years of machining parts. That’s where we start.

Not the kind of factory that says yes to everything and figures it out later. We run 20 three-axis CNC machines and 3 five-axis centers — learn more about our CNC machining capabilities that’s been set up specifically for prototype(sample) and small-batch work.

5-axis matters when your geometry has undercuts or compound angles that a three-axis setup can’t reach cleanly in one go. Fewer setups means fewer chances for the part to shift, and tighter consistency across the run. For sure, if use 5-axis, the cost will be higher.

ISO 9001 certified since the early years. Inspection happens before parts leave, not after they land on your desk.

Materials

We machine this stuff every week:

Aluminum 6061, 7075 — probably 40% of what comes through the door. Stainless 304 and 316 for anything that needs corrosion resistance or food/medical-grade finish. Copper. POM (Delrin). ABS. Polycarbonate — including optical-grade transparent PC when the application needs it. PEEK for high-temp or chemically aggressive environments.

Titanium comes up occasionally. If your drawing calls for it, ask — see the full list of materials on our CNC machining service page — we’ll tell you straight whether it fits our current capacity.

Tolerances — the honest version

Day-to-day work runs to mid-level JIS tolerances. Tighter than that, we hold ±0.005mm regularly. Critical features can go to ±0.001mm — that’s roughly 1/70th the width of a human hair, and yes, it’s real, but it requires the right fixturing, the right tooling, and someone actually measuring at every stage.

If your drawing has GD&T callouts, send the PDF along with the STEP file. We’ll look at it properly before quoting.

The customers we work with

Mostly R&D teams and product designers. Engineers who are three weeks from a deadline and need parts that are right the first time.

Industries we see most: robotics, diving equipment, solar hardware, consumer electronics, automotive components, toys. The range is wide, but the type of customer is usually the same — someone who sends clean drawings, asks direct questions, and just wants a straight answer on price and lead time.

Primary markets: US, Europe, Australia, Isreal,,,

One example: a robotics customer came to us with a multi-component joint assembly, tight tolerances across mating surfaces, needed first articles fast. We ran it in 5 days. They’ve been ordering since.

Lead time

Fast-track prototypes: 3 days. Standard prototypes: 5-7 days from drawing confirmation. Small batch (10–200 pieces): 10-12 days, depending on material and complexity.

If it’s going to take longer than that, we say so before you confirm the order — not after.

Getting a quote

Ready to get started? Visit our CNC machining service page or send your files directly to info@hd-model.com. Attach a PDF drawing if you have surface finish or GD&T requirements. Tell us the material, quantity, and tolerance whether it’s a prototype or a production run.

We come back within 3 hours — price, lead time, and any questions about the drawing.
