Design Tips
Before sending a drawing, clarify the few requirements that most affect manufacturing and inspection.
Start with the application
Describe load, temperature, environment, cosmetic expectations, fit and test goals. The intended use shapes material, process and finish decisions.
Mark what matters most
Identify mating features, datums, threads, surface requirements and drawing revision. Separate essential functional criteria from preferences that can be discussed.
Leave room for process review
Thin walls, deep pockets, internal corners, overhangs and complex assemblies influence process selection. Share both 3D models and 2D drawings so the team can review options against quantity and timing.
Keep revisions synchronized
Quotation, manufacturing and inspection should use the same design revision. Call out changes so old drawings, materials or quantities do not carry into production.
